Fund a Space at Terra Nova

When we build Terra Nova, we will start small with:

  • 4 dog kennels

  • 4 cat pens

  • 2 rabbit/guinea pig units

  • 1 ferret hutch.

By sponsoring one of these spaces, you are helping us bring it to life. Each kennel, pen, or unit will carry the name chosen by our supporters once it is fully funded. The name will go on the door or block, creating a lasting legacy of community care.
Because our facilities will be modular, your support means we can expand step by step, always keeping animal welfare first. Every pound raised brings us closer to opening the doors.

Kennels

Our kennel block will be designed to give dogs more than just the bare minimum . We want every resident to feel safe, calm, and cared for while they wait for a home.

Each kennel will include:

  • Spacious sleeping area

  • Generous outdoor run

  • Above DEFRA minimum size requirements

  • Solid visual barriers to reduce stress and barking between dogs.

  • Sound-dampening materials to lower noise levels and create a calmer environment.

  • Indoor/outdoor access so dogs can move freely.

  • Proper drainage for easy cleaning and hygiene.

  • Natural light and ventilation for wellbeing.

  • Daily enrichment and walks provided by staff and volunteers.

Cattery

Small Animal Space

Our cats deserve more than just the bare minimum. At Terra Nova, each cattery unit will be designed to give cats space, comfort, and choice, while waiting for a new home.

  • Spacious design above DEFRA minimum requirements.

  • A separate sleeping area that is warm, and comfortable.

  • An exercise area with space to move, climb, and explore.

  • Vertical space with shelves and perches for resting and observing.

  • Hiding places so cats can retreat and feel safe when they need to.

  • Sneeze barriers and solid partitions to reduce stress and prevent disease spread.

  • Natural light and ventilation while keeping the units secure and draught-free.

  • Durable, easy-to-clean surfaces for hygiene and safety.

We know small animals are often given the least space, but they deserve just as much care and enrichment as any other specie. Our units will go above DEFRA minimum requirements to provide safe, stimulating environments.

Each unit will include:

  • Spacious design that allows them to stand fully upright, hop, and stretch out comfortably.

  • Separate areas for resting, eating, and toileting.

  • Bond-friendly housing to allow pairs to stay together where appropriate.

  • Secure outdoor-style run space with enough room for running, jumping, and play.

  • Solid, easy-to-clean materials to maintain hygiene while being safe on paws.

  • Sheltered hiding areas where they can retreat to feel secure.
